A summer bucket list 2016

"Let us dance in the sun wearing wild flowers in our hair" Susan Polis Schutz

I have never done a post like this before but it's something I think about a lot, I just don't usually pop it down on paper or share it.

As a family we try to get outside and enjoy the weather as much as possible, Daisy especially would spend every second outside if she could. Although we will be lucky enough to spend as much time as we like in our garden this summer there are a few other things I'd like to try and tick off too.

  1. Visit as many National Trust sites as we can- although they are more often than not expensive to get into unless you have a membership. We took both Daisy & Alex to Powys Castle in their first week of being out in the big world and is one of our favourite spots!
  2. Experience camping pods- we actually did this last week and it was great! I'd like to do it again though and see how we can make the experience even better on return visits.
  3. Test out Air B&B- I've heard great things about locations people have visited through this website and actually we found our camping pod from last week on there. I have a real love of quirky cottages and pretty quaint properties so would love to visit a few this year, even just for a night to get away and experience something new. There's something really nice about stepping away from the big hotels and campsites!
  4. Alfresco dining- this is something we do often anyway when the weather permits. Daisy loves nothing more than a picnic (nic nic!) and so we quite often have the mat out and enjoy a bit of fresh air while we convince her that eating is a good thing to do!
  5. The seaside- I love nothing more than watching the waves and listening to the sea, and after last week it seems Daisy is learning to love the beach too! So we will get a few trips booked in!
  6. Head back to the safari park to use our return passes!
  7. Paddling in a stream, looking for little water creatures and building dams! Something I loved doing as a child and costs nothing!
  8. Family photos- we have lots of photos of Daisy out and about loving life but as parents we rarely feature and it's something we should think more about, one day it will be nice for us to look back on family photos! So when we are ticking other points off our bucket list we need to remember this one!
  9. Strawberry picking- my auntie used to take me and my sister all of the time to pick strawberrys and I have such lovely memories of those days. I need to do a bit of research and find out where does it now and take Daisy!
  10. Hold at least one BBQ with our friends- we haven't done a night time BBQ in a long time where we can eat all afternoon/ evening, nice drinks, blankets when it gets chilly by the fire pit, you get the picture!

Summer is by far my favourite time of year and I really do want to make the most of it. Although at the moment it's June and there is flash floods happening, living in the UK is just wonderful huh!
